Abstract

This study was concerning on identify, analyze and propose solution for the selected topics and industry that involved. This project was done at one of the mushroom industry Malaysia. There are issues regarding the business which it is very difficult to get customers satisfaction regarding to the packages of mushroom that they would like to buy. This will be related to the production process of the mushroom until the products delivered to the customers. So, the study had focused on the process flow of mushroom production and we will identify the problems that contribute to the problems. Its shown that there are difficulties on fulfilling the customer's satisfaction regarding the packaging ofthe mushroom due to size and weight. A grading system was proposed in this study by using Statistical Process Control (SPC) concept which concerned on size and weight of mushroom. A Time Study Method using the stopwatch time study technique to conduct the work and time measurement was used as a tool to prove the solution. Improvement on the weighing machine also been proposed during packing process. A visual management concept was selected in this improvement to show how visual management enables for enhancing the effectiveness of operators awareness while packing process. From the attachment results, there were improvement impacts on the time of packing process of mushroom after using the grading system and improvement weighing machine.
