Abstract

This project discusses on the improvement of quality process control of Airbus A320 spoiler programmed in Composite Technology Research Malaysia Sdn Bhd (CTRM): process control. The purposes of this project are mainly to study the application of statistical process control (SPC) for A320 spoiler. Then, to analyze the data of Centre-Point-Line (CPL) defects by using Individual Moving Range chart (IMR) and lastly, to improve quality process control of A320 spoiler at CTRM based on process control. CTRM has been chosen for this project to analyze the aspect of quality process control system in their production of Airbus A320 Spoiler. Based on the data collected on various dimension area of spoiler, control chart for variables is constructed and analyzed for its efficiencies and significance to the quality control system using Minitab software. The analysis includes the comparison between the CTRM customer requirements as well as to the developed Upper Control Limit (UCL) and Lower Control Limit (LCL). Furthermore, the out of- control chart patterns are identified by plotting I-MR charts and the causes as well as potential causes are discussed in details. Recommendations are suggested as for improvement to the current quality process control.
