Abstract

Electro-pneumatic drilling fixture is a device used to hold and clamp work-piece. This device is designed to be operated through semi-automatic and can hold work-piece in various shapes, such as cylinder. sphere and cube block. The entire device is moved by the electro-pneumatic system and contro lled by programmable logic contro ller (PLC) system, where the PLCs system is using ladder logic diagram as a command to carry out the required task. PLCs are used since it is easy to program and monitor. A pneumatic system is used due to several advantages, such as clean, smooth motion and can be controlled easil y. This device also has a turntab le, which can hold bush ing for various dri ll bit sizes to be used. Bushing acts to control the drill bit, so that, the hole need to be punched can be made accurately.
