Abstract
This project is carried out to design improvement of existing executive chair by using Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Main objective of this study is to propose a new design of executive chair to solve the problem always occur using Finite Element Method (FEA). The existing chair obtain often damaged until give difficulty to UTeM's staffs to precede their daily task. The existing chair will be analyze what types of damage and the location often break to future study do on that structure. In this case, the chair's base which is always fracture and wears on the main column have been focused to analyze and do the details research to make analysis and comparison. Concept design and configuration design have been determined to get the best result to produce for new design. Parts which will be analyzed have drawn with software Solid Works 2007. All the drawings produced have to make analysis using Finite Element Method (FEM) using CAD software CosmosE.xpress. Finally, all analysis and comparison done, I have obtained the suggestion and conclusion to totally complete this project.
