Abstract

The increases number of transportation on the road will caused traffic jam. Design and develop a smart traffic light system for emergency vehicles is essential to avoid traffic jams that block the ambulance. The project purpose are to design a smart traffic light system. This system consist of two parts which are transmitter and receiver. Microcontroller is used as a controller to identify the location of ambulance using global position system (GPS) and then transmit to traffic light system. Two Xbee pro devices are used to implement wireless communication. For transmitter are included Microcontroller PIC18F452, global position system (GPS) connect with microcontroller to locate the location of ambulance. SK40C board is used to place a microcontroller. Then the receiver get data, process data, calculate the movement and angle, then display the result on LCD Panel. Thus, green light are turn ON to let the ambulance passed through the junction. After complete the project, the system performance will be analyzed and finally make a conclusion.
