Abstract
Race car performance depends on elements such as the engine, tires, suspension, aerodynamics and the driver. In recent years, vehicle aerodynamics gained increased attention. In this project, the main focus is to optimize the aerodynamic package UTeM Formula Varsity racing car. The best aerodynamic design of the racing car can reduce the drag force, so racing car can be driven at maximum performance and highest fuel efficiency. In order to make the optimization of aerodynamic package, the previous aerodynamic package must be studied first. CFD (computational fluid dynamic) method used to analyse the aerodynamic of actual size of race car. After that, drag force each design will be compared. The expected outcome of this study is to help produce an aerodynamic package which is low drag force to give the higher performance.
