Abstract

Student academic achievement is of vital importance in an institution of higher learning. The same goes to ensuring that students are equipped with skills necessary for them to effectively perfo1m at the workplace. At University Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), students are required to take the Technical Communication II (formerly knows as Technical Communication III) subject as part of their course requirement. The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of course delivery for both the Technical Communication III subjects (now known as Technical Communication II) for both the diploma and degree levels. Besides that, this study also looked into the effectiveness of the teaching material used and also the suitability of the syllabus. The analysis revealed that the students are generally satisfied with the way the two courses are conducted. Nevertheless, the findings from this study can be used to improve other aspects of the cowses to ensure their relevance for the students in particular and the workplace in general.
