Abstract

In this report, the methods that use to make the yatch model are by using the fiberglass. The mold is made by hand carving. The fiberglass will be installed layer by layer in that mold to make the model. The testing that will be used to test the model are buoyancy test and stability test. For buoyancy test, the model will be observed either its stabile or not. For the stability test the load will be put on the model. The load are move along the surface of the yatch that will produce moment acting on the yatch. In that position, the swaying angle of the yatch will be taken and the moment versus swaying angle graph will be plotted. Instead, the CFD and structure simulation will made using COSMOS Works software. In the simulation, there are some circumstances will be considerate. There are circumstances when the yatch moving 25 knot, hydrostatic pressure, and the buoyancy force acting on the yatch. The calculation will be made for determining the power required for the yatch move.
