Abstract

Composite are generating curiosity and interest in students all over the world. This project is one of the composite studies to explore the effect of curing temperature and fiber layer on laminate composite. This project emphasizes on an overview of composite followed by manufacturing of composite and composite mechanical behavior testing. The objectives of this project are to fabricate composites with different number of layer and curing temperature. Moreover, the effect of composite's thickness and cunng temperature on structure strength is evaluated. The focus of the study is on the structure made of glass fiber and epoxy resin followed ASTM D 3039/ D 3039 M using hand lay up technique. As the result, curing temperature and number of layers does not affect the hardness of the composite. It remains same for all samples of the composites while in tensile test, stress and strain of the composite increase with the number of fiber layers in 27°C. To get the best performance composite, lower temperature is the best curing temperature with higher number of fiber layers. You will fmd this project is very interesting. Besides that, it will become one of an additional references and new knowledge on composite world.
