Abstract
This Bachelor’s Degree Project is aimed to detect failures in composite structure using time domain, frequency domain and time-frequency domain analysis. This research will focus on detecting composites failure delamination type. Since this mode of failures always occured in the internal structure of the composite, wave signal method is used in this research. Two specimen will be used which is the composite type used is fiberglass. One specimen will contain the delamination flaw while the other specimen do not contain the flaw. Vibration method or Ultrasonic testing will be used to produce sufficient data that will be analysed. Then, the data will be transformed into time domain using MATLAB software. Then the time domain analysis will be transformed into frequency domain and time-frequency domain using the Fourier Transform. Next, the results will be analysed graphically to determined which method is the most efficient in detecting delamination.
