Abstract

This project presents approach to develop an automated height measunng system. The main objective is to measure height for the desired product. Work piece will pass trough the height sensor one by one continuously and being move by a conveyor. This system is also capable to identify acceptable work piece according to the required specification (height). Workpeice that does not meet the specification will be labelled as reject product and will be eliminated from production line. In this project is concerned with learning and exploring Grafcet and PLC as programming tool. The programmable logic controller (PLC) was becoming more powerful and high technology that extensively used in automation works. For the control system, PLC is being selected to manage the control sequence accordingly. The design also involves pneumatics technology in order to perform motion and movement. Conveyors are ideally suited to solving handling problem as complete system rather than as a individual units. A complete conveyor system involves a conveyor, accessories and the movement controller of material through the operation process.
