Abstract

This project analyzes the performance of a six axis industrial robot which has to analyze the accuracy and repeatability as the calibration of six axis industrial robot. This project focuses on finding the accuracy and repeatability of a six axis COMAU robot using laser interferometer. This project also analyzes how repeatability and accuracy affect the performance of the industrial robot using two variables which are loads and distances. This project started by conducting literature research about the industrial robot and laser interferometer using internet, books, manuals, journals and articles. The Renishaw’s Laser Interferometer System had been used as a tool to measure the accuracy and repeatability of the COMAU robot. This project had obtained the successful result where the objectives of the project have been achieved. The laser interferometer has been given the value of the accuracy and repeatability to be analyzed and had shows that the COMAU robot has good accuracy and repeatability when compared with manufacturer specification. In addition, the loads and distance factors had shown results which indicate affect the accuracy and repeatability of the robot.
