Abstract

The purpose of this project is to develop a computer-aided timetable generator that can arrange schedule automatically. Computer-aided timetable for primary and secondary school is abundance in market While computer-aid timetable for university is very limited and very expensive to buy. This is because computer-aid for university requires much larger database that can cope with large numbers of student and lecturer that involved a variety of subject taken that is not the same for every semester. Furthermore, not every lecturer teach the same subject for every semester and every lecture requires a different lecture room and if it involved doing experiment, that subject must be done in laboratory. While developing this software, there is a certain guideline that must be follow in order to assure the project is completely finished without facing any much difficulty. A few prototypes are created in order to observe whether which method will produce a better performance. This project highlights the development of a system that can arrange schedule according to lectures room and laboratories room automatically using Microsoft Visual Basic 2005 and Microsoft Access 2007 that act as the database.
