Abstract
The water treatment systems use chlorine to disinfect water from harmful microorganisms and not suitable for human health. However, many do not know how much chlorine can be used safely. If chlorine is not in the right amount, it will cause the public’s water to be unsafe and unclean. Hence, this project aims to design an Internet of Things (IOT) control system that can automatically control the pH level in a water tank and limit the usage to maintain a healthy pH level. An IOT chlorine control system is designed with an ESP-32 microcontroller to monitor and control the amount of chlorine released into a water tank through the valve to maintain a safe pH level. In addition, an IOT platform is added to notify the user of the pH level of water in a tank. It is shown that the pH level of the water tank can be controlled at the safety level indicated by World Health Organization (WHO). It is also shown that the amount of chlorine used with the controller is sufficiently low compared to manual insertion. In conclusion, this project has successfully achieved all its objectives and can be improved even further in the future.
