Abstract

Vibration signal analysis (VSA) is a highly effective technique that can enhance the reliability and the effectiveness of rotating machinery. thus, monitoring machinery vibrations can help detect potential issues at an early stage and enabling timely preventive measures to avoid any damage. The literature review reveals that numerous previous researchers have conducted studies on condition monitoring through vibration analysis of various components, including gears, rotating shafts, pumps, and compressors. In addition, vibration analysis is a cost-effective approach to condition monitoring. This sets it apart from other techniques for condition monitoring, such as ultrasonic testing and radiography, which can be comparatively more expensive. This study was to monitor the condition of centrifugal pump system using vibration signal analysis. Condition monitoring is an essential element of making sure that industrial pumping systems operate reliably and efficiently. Vibration data are monitored and investigated using accelerometer that mounted on the external wall of the pump and data acquisition device (DAQ) to identify crucial element of the pump system condition. This characteristic was proceeded by MATLAB software and utilised to identify pump system state whether normal or defective condition. The suggested methodology utilises the essential features of vibration signals, which are extremely sensitive to the changes in pump system behaviour, such as shaft misalignment. By monitor the vibration in the pump regularly, it enables for the early detection of pump system problem and prevent catastrophic failure.
