Abstract

The majority of the events will take place in the mosque's main hall, where the Jemaah will sit on the floor cross-legged. Jemaah prefers to sit cross-legged while attending lectures, religious classes, and other activities. Due to age, illness, or disabilities, many worshippers are unable to adopt all of the requisite bodily postures. The issue with conventional seats is their size, which might cause other persons to be disturbed during congregational prayer. In existing products, the ergonomic aspects of a product's fit for use with human capabilities are sometimes ignored and current floor chairs do not fulfill the necessary criteria and should not be used in mosques. Customers' required features, ergonomics, quality, comfort, storage method, and function are all taken into account while designing the masjid floor chair. The objective of this project is To explain the relationship between the KE Words and the features of the product. Identify innovative designs and ideas that can improve seating posture and be used in mosques using Kansei vocabulary. Shorten the design process by giving the designer a simple approach to locating an appropriate design sample to rapidly understand the customer's requirements through the integration of KE and QFD. The QFD is a method for gathering customer insights and translating their requirements into technical attributes. The House of Quality (HOQ) of the floor chair was developed based on the data obtained from the questionnaire, and the relationship matrix inside the HOQ was further analyzed, as well as the product's attributes. In this situation, one issue for product development is collecting customer product expectations and turning these subjective elements into actual product design. As a consequence, in this study, Kansei Engineering tools were used to classify and categorize Kansei words from consumer perception into attributes, which helped computation and statistical analysis. Designers can better grasp the increased emotional motivating factors of a product by classifying and categorizing these words into characteristics. Simultaneously, the QFD and KE integrated method was proposed and confirmed based on the analysis of the design process and outcomes. In conclusion, this research shows that throughout the product design phase, greater importance should be placed on the design components that have the strongest influence on the Kansei words. Based on the data calculation results, more consideration should be given during the design phase to the design elements that have a great impact on the Kansei words. The relationship between the Kansei words and functional requirements must be highlighted using the HOQ to determine the positive correlation. The strong positive relation, shows how the Kansei words affect or have an influence on customer requirements. The Kansei words that got better rankings from responders are ergonomics, affordable price, high quality, convenience, lightweight, and safe. The armrest, with a total average PCC value of 1.98, has the highest correlation to the set of Kansei words, followed by the seat, with a total average PCC value of 0.188. The designer might choose to include important design components or exclude less significant ones, such as the backrest.
