Abstract
The aim of this project is to design and develop an integrated quality inspection gauge for checking a motorcycle piston. The research method used includes Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Product Design Specification, House of Quality and Weighted Decision Matrix. The design concept for this project is focused on three major part which is the most critical part. The specific analyse for the inspection process is done by using a Coordinate Measurement Machine. There are four designs that have been developed based on the current existing standard inspection gauge in the industry. The prototype was fabricated by using a lathe machining process and 3d printing. The material used to fabricate the prototype were aluminium rod and ABS respectively. The significance of this project is the gauge can increase the productivity in the manufacturing industry as unskilled operators can operate it easily.
