Abstract

As product life cycle becoming shorter, the number of recycle electronic product is increasing, thus require for a better and efficient method of product disassembly process.Product disassembly is a vital strategy for industrial recycling and remanufacturing which generates the desired parts and/or subassemblies by means of separation of a product into its elements. In order to increase disassembly capacity as well as the disassembled parts quality, new standards have to be established.Manual disassembly work perform by human creates inconsistency in the quality, efficiency,as well as time consuming, whereby it is believed that those weaknesses can be overcome by an automated performance. Therefore, this research study reviews the fundamental issue on modelling planning of process sequence for an automated disassembly with consideration to obtain high quality of reusable parts form the disassembly process as well as to speed up the disassembly process. The methodology will start with an understanding study of assembly process, follow by modeling works of the process sequence based on two graphical process sequence planning approaches;reverse assembly approach and Disassembly Petri Nets;as well as the information gain from the assembly process study. The proposed disassembly process sequences will be verified by using a simulation tool in order to ensure that the disassembly process can be carried out as per proposed sequence. An optimal disassembly sequence is to be derived using disassembly leveling and linear programming methods. At the end of the study,an optimal automated disassembly sequence should be obtained. The result will present a unique contribution and to be recommended to the field of designing for disassembly job from the perspective of automated performance. It is expected that the output result will be the base knowledge for future implementation of automated disassembly process for electronic products.
