Abstract

Nowadays, it is important to have a better safety systems to be implemented in a domestic area and safety is a key role in this modern world. The Liquefied Petroleum Gases also known as LPG gas is s combustible gas which contain the substances such as butane and propane and this kind of gases are widely used in domestic area such as hotels, food stalls and home. The LPG gas produce pure energy but when there is a leakage in the air, it will be a serious problem that can cause fire and lead to explosion. In order to prevent such cases, this project is focusing on how to help people with a low sensitivity of smell and save people life and property from damage. This project is aiming to develop a microcontroller-based prototype of a domestic Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) leakage detection system and develop an automatic alert system with LPG supply cut-off safety mechanism using GSM network and servo motor. Hence, when this system sensed a certain LPG concentration levels that have been set up in the settings from the air surrounding, a SMS will be send via GSM to alert the user about the gas leakage. In a mean time, servo motor immediately activated to shut down the LPG supply by turning off the LPG cylinder regulator knob in addition for safety purpose. This system are capable to reduce accidents and very useful to alert people when there is no one inside the area of the home.
