Abstract

The main purpose of this study was to investigate the condition of thermal comfort in the lobby of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and the Faculty of Engineering and Technology will compare with the Malaysian Standard MS 1525: 2014 and ASHRAE 55.Variables involved are personal variables of the dress and activities and environment variables the mean radiant temperature, average temperature, air humidity and air speed. Physical measurements were carried out by residents and non-residents of the state. The questionnaire was also conducted during the measurement in the presence of building occupants to determine the level of thermal comfort of the building occupants questionnaire. The measurement results will also be broken down into several parts, namely the analysis of objective measurement, subjective measurements analysis and linear regression between objective measurement and subjective measurements. The analysis of this study, including expectations Average Vote "Predicted Mean Vote" (PMV) and the percentage of dissatisfied expected "Predicted Percentage of Dissatisfied" (PPD) for the measurement of physical and rated the sensation of thermal "thermal sensation vote" (TSV) through subjective evaluation, In addition, linear regression analysis was conducted between PMV and TSV with cooperatives temperature by using SPSS to know the relationship between both data. The measurements revealed that both the lobby not meet the standard and require some modifications in order to meet the standards recommended because in certain periods when the density of the buildings in the lobby FKM and FTK increased, environmental conditions become uncomfortable.
