Abstract

Biodiesel is a renewable source of energy and sustainable. The use of biodiesel is a step to reduce dependency on fossil fuels such as petroleum and natural gas. Through use of biodiesel, the contamination can be reduced further categorized as green energy. Several factors are seen as a source for creating the project. Among them is the cost to produce biodiesel processing engine is high, the amount of fossil fuel that is a real concern and others. Biodiesel is seen as having a high potential in developing the energy sector. It can be seen as the characteristics of biodiesel are very similar to the characteristics of diesel. Beberapa steps have been taken in the design and fabrication of biodiesel processing machine. Among them is a chart morphological examination of the design matrix and generate the design concept. Detailed design developed starting from conceptual design using software "SolidWorks 2016" to find flaws in the system in terms of materials used and the design of the system according to standards and specifications. An electronic circuit is designed to control the function of electronic components for the control of fluid flow (raw materials and catalyst) to be blended into biodiesel. Once the detailed design developed and complete electronic circuit is completed, the fabrication processing machines for the production of biodiesel made. Biodiesel is produced with the use of a machine that is created. There are a number of experiments undertaken to test the durability of the engine and the characteristics of the resulting biodiesel. The characteristics of the resulting biodiesel machine that is created will compare the characteristics of biodiesel other researchers, namely in terms of kinematic viscosity and density. The findings obtained the kinematic viscosity higher than in other research. This is due to the fat content contained in the raw material is high. However, the kinematic viscosity is still within the limits specified by ASTM D445. The value of the density of their value as ideal. Overall, the machine developed successfully produced biodiesel.
