Abstract

Analysis on Anti-hunchback Device by Using Electromyography (EMG) was done to help further research and medical purpose for a human body. This study will focus on muscle on the thoracic spine that can cause hunchback or kyphosis in order to verify the device is functional. In this study, technique of surface electromyography (sEMG) signal detection and processing will be implemented. The objective of this research is study muscle fatigue on thoracic spine in order to evaluate the muscle fatigue condition of the respondent. sEMG signal was collected from the muscle on the thoracic spine that can cause hunchback or kyphosis posture.12 healthy participants are volunteer for this study.None of the participants experienced a history of musculoskeletal complaints. The subject must in sitting posture and using the computer during this experiment will be implemented in order to monitor the muscle fatigue on thoracic spine. They will experimented within 2 hour which is 1 hour before wearing the device and next 1 hour with wearing the anti-hunchback device. The signal collected will be analyzed by using time domain and the extraction feature will focus mainly on RMS.RMS is considered as appropriate indicator of the onset of muscle fatigue as it has a linear relationship with a number of zero crossing and number of motor unit potential turns at low-level contractions. The RMS values before and during fatigue were obtained via export to Microsoft Excel.
