Abstract
Over the past decade optical fiber getting evolved and had become one of the most successful transmission lines equipment. There are many product revolutions have taken place due to the growth of the optoelectronics and fiber optic communications industries. Many researches have been done and lead the optical fiber sensor to many uses that been used nowadays. One of the observation based on the researched was a new thought directed to use optical fibers in designing sensing systems, which led to the fiber based sensing devices and components. A high demand of fiber requirement in the telecommunication industry has brought down substantially the material cost of fiber sensor and the performances of the fiber towards the oil. This project is to analyze the performances of optical fiber to differentiate types of engine oil using statistical analysis. This analysis might be useful to be used as a new technology in automotive.
