Abstract

Manufacturing system are generally interrelated and complex. It is not easy to implement lean manufacturing without expertise and skills in lean tools implementation. The decision making by lean practitioner is at most important to ensure lean tools will perfectly work out when implemented at the right area of working place for the first time. The objectives of this project is to propose SMED Simulation Simulator framework and conduct usability study for this new framework. The SMED Simulation Simulator is created by using Arena Simulation Software and Visual Basic Application. From this study, SMED Simulation Simulator is able support decision making for lean practitioners namely to reduce . changeover time in practices and is usable. (SMED Simulation Model (SMEDSM) and SMED Simulator (SMEDS).
