Abstract

Projek Sarjana Muda (PSM) or Final year Project is an academic research regarding research field that is compulsory for each final year student of Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), before being awarded a degree. The purpose of PSM is to enhance student’s knowledge and capability to complete the task given within academic research regarding to produce a productive and competent engineer. In this paperwork, the project title is ‘An Implementation of RFID Technology at the Zoo Entrance System’. In this project, it will design the system of the gate entrance of the zoo that cover all about the system needed at the gate entrance. For this project, the main purpose is to get the data of the visitor that come in and come out from the zoo. RFID one of the Automated Identification and Data Capture (AIDC) technologies will be apply in gate entrance system to enhance the effectiveness and flexibility of information human control enter and exit from the zoo. RFID is widely used in manufacturing currently because the applications can reduce the labor cost and increase the data entry. In this case, this project will study and analyze the application of RFID into the entrance system. The methods used to accomplish this project are design of the system and capture the database for being saved for use in the next time. The function of the prototype are to ensure the correct amount of the visitor come in and come out and to make sure the gate function properly. The procedure to accomplish all that objectives is by implementing the project’s methodology that include understanding the title and problem statement, study the information about RFID, project planning in design, simulate and prototyping, and discussion of the result and analysis. The result and analysis will influence the potential using the RFID in zoo entrance system.
