Abstract

The idea of undergoing this project of 'Design and Development of 6 Axis Robotic Ann Slider' is to increase the flexibility, effectiveness and better automated system of industrial robot. The design of robotic arm slider is presented in this project report. The main idea of the design was then translated into the Computer Aided Design (CAD)before the development or fabrication processes being started. Solid Work software is being used to design the prototype of aU part for the slider that bad been predetermined.In this report, the processes from determining the needs are included. The specification on materia ~ type of motor plus the driving system are discussed. The engineering process of developing mechanical structure of the arm robo t slider is also being described in this project. The processes involve in developing the mechanical structures of the slider are milling process, drilling, tapping, cutting and joining part by parts. The development of the mechanical structure of the slider is constructed by dividing into several categories which are frame structure, Linear supporter, rack gear, driving mechanism and moving table. The slider is actuated by using the AC motor and the power is supplied using AC single phase power. The specification on the electronics component and the type of suitable AC motor is also being discussed. The controller is designed using Automation Studio software where the current flow and sequence ofthe controller prototype can be seen. Development of controller will be discussed . The controller is designed in a simple way to make it easy to integrate and can be improved in the future. At the end of this project, the Design and development of robotic arm slider project can be used for educational and training purpose. Upon completing this project, the robotic arm will be mounted on the slider. Thus, the aim is to extent the flexibility, effectiveness and better automated system of industrial robot can be done.
