Abstract

In this study, Taguchi method will be used for determining the optimum parameter combination for FDM. Four type of FDM parameter will be considered in this study are air gap, raster angle, raster width and layer thickness. Nine prototypes will be produced according to these four parameters and several experiments will be perform on them. The experiments are tensile test, impact test and hardness test. Based on the result of the experiment, Taguchi method such as orthogonal array and analysis of variances will be used to determine the optimum parameter combination by following the criteria needed for ABS prototype such as strength, quality, build time, surface finish, endurance and etc.
