Abstract

Recently, the problem related to the car’s body becomes a major concern among designers. The aerodynamic effect of car’s body is needed to keep a car moving faster by minimizing the drag reduction. Sometimes the car’s profile design is not suitable with the car itself resulted in decreasing of speed. The shape sometimes is not environmental friendly with the current aerodynamic designs due to the advancement of technologies and cost of manufacturing (Hosey, 2012). In reference to this problem, the concept of nature design (or boxfish) is then proposed. SolidWorks is the most common software used in designing this car’s profile. Beside, the existing profile, Range Rover Evoque Coupe is chosen due to the profile similarity. Both models are examined throughout structural and dynamic analyses. The structural schemes such as linear static and fatigue analyses are applied to find out the structural applicability in static mode. While ANSYS Fluid Flow (FLUENT) is the dynamic package that will be used to analyse the models in dynamic purposes such as velocity, pressure and viscosity. Therefore, an improvement design (boxfish) can be considered much better in structural and dynamic behaviours due to its profile design when compared to the existing design model.
