Abstract

The main objective of this project is to develop a methodology that will characterize adsorbents in such a way as to provide information on LPG storage capacity, adsorption behavior, heat effects and adsorption amounts. In this research, lab scale tank is used to investigate fuel gas adsorption behavior. Adsorbent preparation will be carrying out in lab scale vertical furnace reactor, adsorbent will be characterized through Quantachrome-autosorb and FTIR. The expected result is the amount of fuel gas stored in tank will be increased after installing adsorbent inside it. Characterization result analysis will give best adsorbent preparation to produce adsorbent from oil palm shell. It is expected that with using adsorbent inside fuel tank will increase its storage capacity of energy gases, in this case Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).
