Abstract
Quality function deployment (QFD) is a well-known design method. It's management tool that provides a visual connective process to help teams focus on the needs of the customers throughout the total development cycle of a product or process. It provides the means for translating customer needs into appropriate technical requirements for each stage of a product/process-development life-cycle. It helps to develop a product or services more customer-oriented, higher-quality products. This project is all about to improve the present wheelchair right now by using feedback user's voice (voice of customer) by referring QFD methodology. In this project, the manual wheelchair has been selected in to apply the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) methodology and technique in order to evaluate customer wants and needs from the user feedback. The manual wheelchair is one of the patient equipment for elderly and disable user. These application of are widely use in government and non-government hospital and clinic. The complaint from the user of manual wheelchair contributes this case study to be implemented. For this project case study, Hospital Besar Malacca area was identify in order to seek the problem and difficulties in manual wheelchair present design for the patient user. The final improvement after using QFD methodology will able to meet user requirement and satisfaction.
