Abstract

Electropalatograph (EPG) is a device that can help to overcome the speech problem that causes by a clef palate problem. This device also used to correct the speech when we learn a second language. It is also can help in a basic research about the speech. This device using a sensor that it is put on artificial palate. During the speech, the tongue will touch with the sensor and produced a touching pattern The touching pattern will be display on monitor screen (PC). This touching pattern will be compared between the normal speaker and the problem speaker. This project involved the building of first stage of EPG. There are 62 switch used to replace the sensor. This switch will connect to a few multiplexer as an input and the output will connect to 62 LED. The ignition of LED are assume as touching pattern between the tongue and the palate.
