Abstract

Help Desk System (HDS) for ICT Asset is a stand-alone database system. HDS will manage about complaint application which involved all the staff at the department. The main user for the HDS is Staff, Technician, and Manager. This system interface was developed for the front process and also backend process, these features makes the HDS more special than the others common helpdesk management system. The process that can be done by HDS is able to manage all records based on tables in the database. Next feature is HDS can provide the backup and recovery process for the HDS database and tables. HDS also focused on the access control management where the grant and revoke privilege to other users included as one of the main module. HDS system interface can assists the DBA in creating the new table into the database. Instead of that, HDS also have stored procedure and triggers that have been implemented directly to HDS database for the better system performance. The HDS will be developed using Visual Basic 2005 programming language to create the dynamic interface helping by the MSSQL Server as the server to serve HDS interface and above with the data from SQL Server 2000 database. The methodology used is Structured System Analysis and Design Method (SSADM) while HDS is done under the principle of iterative Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The final output for this project is Help Desk System for ICT Asset.
