Abstract

This research examines the challenges faced especially in pharmaceutical department at a district hospital in Kedah when managing their inventory. For hospitals to guarantee that stock shortages would not affect patient care, effective inventory control is essential. From this research, it will show the effects of inventory management to the organizational performance, control costs and patient care. The problem statement for this research is how this district hospital maintaining a good inventory management despite having some obstacles when managing inventory. This methodology that will be use in this research is the qualitative methods, which is semi- structured interviews. Using this method, it will involving the important people that related with the inventory management in hospital. The purpose of this research is to analyze these issues and find areas where hospital inventory management systems might be made better. This may result in better patient care, cost savings and made management more efficiency. The findings will provide valuable insights into current state of inventory management within the selected district hospital and practical recommendations for improvement, contributing to enhanced patient care, reduced costs and improved overall operational efficiency.
