Abstract
UTeM Formula Varsity is a student racing car competition that is organized by Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM). This event is inspired by similar student based formula style racing events such as Formula SAE and Formula Student. The competition challenges students in all aspects of the automotive industry including design, analyse, manufacturing, and testing the model of a racing car in real track condition. The purpose of this project is to design and analysis the suspension system for FTK Formula Student Racing Car that was involved in an accident during competition. The project will refer the existing Formula Varsity car that had been designed by the FTK Formula Varsity Team 2012 of UTeM. In this project, the design of control arms was modelled by using CATIA software and the component of suspension system were analyzed by using CATIA and Motion View software. At the end of this project, the designed of suspension system must be competitive enough which can be used for further development of FTK Formula Varsity racing car.
