Abstract

Nowadays, the world has experiencing the greenhouse effects caused by many factors including the increasing of the internal combustion engine vehicles on the road. The automotive industries are constantly trying to find method to reduce the fuel combustion. Thus, the hybrid car is invented. But it is not 100 percents clean from air pollution. The new idea is to invent a motorcycle operated by air motor namely Air Powered Motorcycle. This study will focus on the chassis of Air Powered Motorcycle. Chassis is important part of a motorcycle where all the components will be attached on it such as suspension and engine. The analysis will be done to the swing arm of the Air Powered Motorcycle whereby the swing arm is important as it is the main component for the rear suspension mechanism. To enhance the performance of the air motor, a lightweight swing arm will be designed. In order to reduce force and sprung mass. This new design of rear suspension swing arm will be drawn using CATIA V5R19, a computer aided design advanced software.
