Abstract
This report are prepared to describe process design, analyses and testing a buck converter continuous mode. In this end of the project will produce unit switching mode power supply with a input voltage 12 Volts and output voltage 5 Volts. Exist two circuits in design buck converter. That is buck converter circuit and driver circuit. Basic components of the buck converter circuit as. a MOSFET, diode, inductor and ' ' ' capacitor. For the trigger circuit component w~.ch are used is Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to trigger and control MOSFET. To reduce the spike, it is using snubber circuit will be connect parallel with MOSFET. Types of MOSFET n-channel are using because it is high switching speed, low switching loses and simple circuit. Calculation and simulation software OrCAd Pspice are used to make a analysis and process from conceptual design circuit. After going through the processes buck converter continuous mode will be designed.
