Abstract

In this project, simulation of air flow at the blower fan will run. Components selected in this study were from the Proton Gen-2. Catia software will be used to draw the blower fan design. ANSYS-FLUENT software will be selected to analyze the air flow rate in car air-conditioning system. The objective of this study was to increase the air flow inside the vehicle and to reduce the cooling time of the vehicle when the vehicle is placed under the hot weather. Modification involves only the portion of the blade only. There is 4 form modify that was provided for purpose improve on present design. Modification divided into two levels namely first stage involve addition and reduction of surface area of the blade. Resulted from first stage analysis find out surface area extention capable of increasing airflow rate. Second stage modification involve addition and reduction of the number of blade. Second stage analysis find out by increase number blade able to increase flow rate. Overall result of analysis that conducted found by adding blade surface width and increase number blade capable of increasing airflow rate in refrigerant system. Time cool vehicle could be reduced without high costs.
