Abstract

project presents a secured biometric exam attendance system (ThumSec m) to monitor and control attendance of the student in UTeM exam hall. This mainly focuses on the effective way of managing and organizing the security in verifying student attendance. ThumSec System is based on image sing technology to recognize and verify the thumbprint sample which is ed into the system database. This project used Thumbprint scanner that cing between server and Peripheral Interface Controller (PIC) to control the o-Magnetic Lock on the door. Testing was conducted across heterogeneous teristics of test participant such as age, gender, and occupation. In addition, nt type of input materials is tested to evaluate ThumSec input forgery. The can also be applied to monitors student attendance in lab and lecture session. roject successfully monitors the attendance of the student in highly secured, ive and timely manner.
