Abstract

n detection system is a type of security management system for networks. An IDS system gathers and analyzes information from ithin a computer or a network to identify possible security breaches, both intrusions (attacks from outside the organization) and misuse ithin the organization). IDS use vulnerability assessment (sometimes canning), which is a technology developed to assess the security of a em or network. This project will be focusing on performance ween Host IDS hereafter (HIDS) software and also detection for the tion system. Host Intrusion Detection becomes an important key ecurity approach in order to protect the network. So the performance rusion Detection software must be very high in order to perform the ion detection. The word real time here means that the software must ct the intrusion activities before any damage can be happen to the and also the services. This project will compare the performances and also Ossec in order to see which types of Intrusion Detection will give the best result in monitoring and detecting all of the threads. be focusing on detection that will be generated by these Intrusion ms software.
