Abstract

Optical fibre transmission is an attractive technology for point-to-point transmission of audio and video signals. It is use to replace conventional copper cable transmission. Electromagnetic interference (EMI) susceptibility of the copper cable can be eliminated. The purposes of this project are design, modulate and study performance system of square wave frequency modulation (SWFM) technique for optical fibre transmission. The results indicate that SWFM system is bandwidth efficient and lowcost alternative compared to the more complex and expensive digital system requiring far greater bandwidth.
