Abstract

This report presents Work Study Utilizing Maynard Operation Sequence Technique (MOST) at an Aerospace Manufacturing Company. The study has been carried out at CTRM Aero-Composite Sdn. Bhd. in Batu Berendam, Malacca. It focuses on the A320 Spoiler Project. The objectives of this study are to perform work study in order to establish standard time, to determine the Overall Labor Effectiveness and to prepare the data for the establishment of Standard Operation Procedure (SOP) at three different production areas which are at Lay-up, Demould and Trim Shop. The problem arises when the unavailability of standard time occurred. The first step to identify the solution of the problem is with line observation. The work measurement method being used to determine the cycle time of the product at three production areas is time study method by using digital stopwatch and MOST. The data obtained from both methods were compared to identify the difference/gap and calculate the OLE. From the activity mapping, value added and non-value added activities were identified and an improved SOP was able to be proposed.
