Abstract
Optical fiber, or fiber optics, is a medium and system that transmits information as light pulses over a glass or plastic strand. Total internal reflection is a phenomenon in which light signals reverberate off the core and cladding in a sequence of zig-zag bounces when they are transmitted through fiber optic cable. Optical microfiber sensors have garnered significant research attention in recent years as a result of their high sensitivity, rapid detection speed, and capacity to operate in challenging environments. The objective of this project was to employ microfiber optics as a liquid sensor to identify various perfume concentrations through a decreasing approach. The tapering method will be employed to attenuate the single-mode fiber, and the optimal microfiber optics size will be selected for further investigation as a liquid sensor. Additionally, the three perfume samples will undergo testing at varying concentrations. The fiber would be immersed in the samples and measured prior to each test. Each measurement would yield distinct outcomes in a line graph. The experiment's results will be presented in terms of the graph's coefficient of determination, correlation, and sensitivity, all of which are entirely contingent upon the perfume concentration and light source.
