Abstract
Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have arisen as a technically and economically credible alternative to the p-n junction photovoltaic devices. A drawback compared to other solar cell technologies is their power conversion efficiency performance. Thus, it can be increased by replacing the liquid electrolyte with a solid-state material to produce a complete solid-state DSSC (SSDSSCs). The dye and p-type materials' redox levels have to be adapted carefully to result in an electron in the conduction band of n-type semiconductor and a localized on the p-type conductor. Titanium Dioxide (TiO2) and Zinc Oxide (ZnO) as an ETL are promising because they have almost similar wide bandgap conduction band where it allows the possibility to generate lower resistivity because of its larger surface area and have high stability. In this study, the solar cell with the best of ETL layer and the effect of the parameter will be designed and analysed using SCAPS simulation software. Then, the output result (graph analysis) will be analysed to find the best ETL layer. In this regard, this project proposes to design the solar cell with the best ETL layer and to analyze the effect of the parameter using SCAPS simulation software.
