Abstract

Lightning happening when electrostatic discharges occur among the positive and negative charges in between cloud to cloud or cloud to ground. Every difference type of lightning has its different appearances and waveforms. This safety system is an early detection and warning alarm which can give advanced notice of the lightning hazard to shut down dangerous operations before the arrival of lightning. The objective of the project to increase the connection between the hardware to the cloud and to reduce the delay of the analyze or processing time. The system also is capable to update the current weather in real time using the IoT based system. The system using antenna, raspberry pi 3B+, picoscope 2204A, server to process the data while using Matlab online. The system will start to operate by detecting the lightning, digitize the signal through picoscope, save in SD card of raspberry pi, waveform analysis, and transfer the data to the server through wireless communication. The expected outcome of the project is to identity the type of lightning and in Matlab online real time.
