Abstract
Exit signage is an emergency signage that provides the sight for evacuation route in the case of emergency. In this project, Internet of Thing (IoT) based self-diagnose system is developed into existing exit signage to improve the inspection system. This system enhances the exit signage system to detect self-faulty and notify to perform maintenance. In order for this project to work, hardware such as Raspberry Pi Wireless Zero (RPW0) and an Analog to Digital Converter (ADC) is required. Furthermore, MySQL database is used to develop the IoT system which allows personel or person in charge to monitor the exit signage in their workplace or premise from a computer or mobile phone through a local network. The self-diagnose system consists 3 parts which are the voltage regulator part, relay part and the main circuit. The main circuit made up from 7.4V batteries, LED and divider. Two main flow charts which is bulb fault detection and battery fault detection are formed to detect the faulty in the main circuit. As a result, RPW0 will present the status of the battery and the LED. All of the experimental results including of State of Charge (SoC) and the duration for fully charged batteries to last have been analysed and evaluated in this project thesis.
