Abstract
The project titled "URL Threat Detection" introduces an innovative and comprehensive solution for network traffic analysis, aiming to revolutionize the identification and mitigation of potential threats within network traffic. Leveraging the combined capabilities of Wireshark, Python, and the VirusTotal API, the project addresses the dynamic challenges posed by malicious URLs in today's cybersecurity landscape. By automating the extraction of key indicators, notably URLs, from packet captures and seamlessly integrating with the VirusTotal API for real-time threat intelligence, the solution enhances analysis efficiency while minimizing human error. The scope of the project extends beyond traditional approaches to encompass a robust methodology for categorizing malicious URLs across diverse contents, facilitating proactive threat detection and mitigation. Through meticulous attention to detail and rigorous implementation strategies, the project seeks to deliver a refined and user-friendly solution that empowers users with actionable insights. Central to the project's objectives is the commitment to accuracy in threat detection, ensuring organizations can rely on precise and timely assessments to strengthen their security postures against evolving cyber threats.
