Abstract
Industrial workers often faced increased risk of injury on the job due to incorrect working postures. Inappropriate working positions, including bending, twisting, overreaching, repetitive tasks, and uncomfortable postures, significantly contribute to the development of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). This study explores a holistic approach to enhance ergonomics in metal stamping factories, aiming to alleviate workplace discomfort, prevent injuries, and boost overall productivity. Leveraging Digital Human Modelling (DHM), the research integrates the widely recognized Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) and Rapid Upper Limb Assessment (RULA) methodologies to systematically evaluate and optimize working conditions. The study's use of DHM to model real-world situations enables a complete examination of the ergonomic aspects influencing employees in metal stamping workplaces. When determining possible hazards and opportunities for improvement, the REBA and RULA assessments are useful instruments. The study considers the long-term effects on worker well-being in addition to the immediate worries about musculoskeletal problems. The research findings offer practical recommendations for rethinking workstations, procedures, and tools in accordance with ergonomic principles. By putting an emphasis on worker-centric design, one hopes to make workplaces safer and cosier, which will boost employee happiness and general output. This research adds to the growing body of knowledge on workplace ergonomics by providing useful recommendations to sectors looking to improve worker productivity and well-being in metal stamping operations.
