Abstract

Anti-roll bars (ARB) are the part of vehicle suspension system . Anti-roll bar inside the automobile industry usually used steel as important materials to manufacture anti-roll bar. However, in contact of environmental impact, steel manufacturing has some of impacts at the surroundings, which includes air emissions (NOx, SOx, CO, PM2), waste water contaminants, hazardous wastes, and solid wastes. The principal environmental effects from incorporated steel mills are from coking and iron-making. The purpose of the project is to evaluate the materials and design of current automotive anti-roll bar with respect to environment because of the widespread environmental awareness towards achieving product sustainability. It has spurred great efforts in using more environmental-friendly materials and to predict the green material for automotive design application in product design. Among the most promising solutions to address the needs is by using composite to reduce the environmental impact .Life cycle assessment (LCA) is among the efforts being undertaken related to composite material with the primary aim to determine the overall potential environmental impact of using such materials on the surroundings.
