Abstract

Probability distribution has been widely used to characterize rate of water flow for hydroelectric energy sources. The volatile in modelling of water flow rate, which is varying in generating power, mostly caused by limitations in power curve, method of controlling water turbine and the operation transmission system. This difference is more significantly for the aggregate of the hydropower generation has a system with high air penetration. Consequently, by using Weibull distribution component more in-depth characterization of power production of hydroelectric energy can be identify. This paper is focus on the implementation of probability density function (PDF) by using methods of Wiebull distribution for small-scale hydropower electricity generation. PDF data are classified into two types of distribution used, which is Weibull distribution and Log-normal distribution. This research implementing the mathematical method in determines the reliability of the system and power production hydroelectric and probability analysis assess on reliability analysis based on evaluation of curve approximation on the probability density function (PDF). Through this approach to, the last solution that is stored in the base case will be reused to solve new problems.
