Abstract

Power quality is an issue that is becoming increasingly important to electricity consumer at all levels of usage. Sensitive equipment and non-linear loads are now common phase in both the industrial commercial sectors and the domestic environment.Arc furnace is one of power system that produced harmonic that occur in the heavy industry. It might produce more harmonic due to the sparking when the process of melting and refining.Overheating the equipment,loss energy and incorrect measurement if voltage and current by meter are the effect of the harmonic.So,the main objective of this project is to detect the harmonic and interharmonic of arc furnace in power distribution.Besides,to analyse the harmonic and interharmonic by using Periodogram.Lastly,to calculate the total harmonic distortion by the harmonic for future reference.This project is to focus power distribution on three phase in MATLAB simulation software.The result is simulating by using MATLAB.Software and analyse whether the harmonic occurrence is follow the limitation that standardize by IEEE standard or not.
